The 21st Century Cures Act required states to implement an Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) system for use for all Medicaid-funded Personal Care Services (PCS) by January 2020, to avoid a reduction in federal funding. But CMS has given states more time to implement a solution for tracking in-home care visits.
It’s a welcome reprieve as Medicaid agencies across the country strive to develop an EVV model to support Medicaid-funded home care — determining what EVV technology to use to electronically address fraud, prevent incorrect payments and ensure that Medicaid beneficiaries are protected.
The Gainwell Electronic Visit Verification Solution equips states with a system that manages all EVV requirements. We partner with Sandata Technologies, LLC (Sandata), a leader in providing statewide payer EVV program solutions. We use the Sandata aggregator to collect, validate and store statewide EVV visit data. Sandata has the only EVV solution with CMS certification.
Our solution includes coordination of care, fraud and abuse prevention, quality management and outcomes, and visibility for payers, as well as providing support and services and participant safety through capabilities such as participant-centric plans of care.
